Children

Children are a cherished part of our church family and an important part of our life together in Christ. At St. Peter’s, we seek to nurture each child's spiritual growth in a loving, welcoming community where they are known, valued, and encouraged to explore their faith.

Through worship, learning, fellowship, and special events throughout the year, children encounter the stories of our faith, experience God's love, and build meaningful relationships with one another and with the church. We strive to create a safe and engaging environment where children can ask questions, grow in confidence, and discover the joy of belonging to God's family.

Whether your family has been part of a church community for years or you are exploring faith for the first time, we welcome you. We invite you to learn more about the opportunities available for children and families and to join us on Sunday mornings and throughout the year.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School program welcomes children from age 3 through seventh grade and provides a fun, engaging environment where they can grow in faith and friendship. Through Bible stories, videos, crafts, games, and meaningful conversation, children explore God's love and discover how faith connects to their everyday lives.

Meeting each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. from September through May, Sunday School encourages children to ask questions, build relationships, and develop a deeper understanding of the Christian faith in an age-appropriate setting. Children rejoin their families for the latter part of the worship service, helping them feel connected to the larger church community.

We also offer Summer Sunday School, providing opportunities for faith formation and fellowship throughout the year.

Children's Chapel

Each Sunday from 10:15 to 10:30 a.m., children gather for Children's Chapel, a brief worship service designed especially for young worshipers. Led by one of our clergy and the children themselves, this meaningful time introduces children to prayer, scripture, and the rhythms of Episcopal worship in an engaging, age-appropriate setting.

Children's Chapel gives young people an opportunity to participate in worship, ask questions, and grow in faith as part of our church community. Whether your family is new to church or has attended for years, your children are warmly welcome.

Nursery & Childcare

We are committed to helping families participate fully in the life of the church. Our Nursery and Childcare ministries provide a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for children while parents and caregivers attend worship, classes, fellowship opportunities, and other Sunday morning activities.

The nursery is available for children through age 4 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, allowing families to participate in activities throughout the morning, including the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Childcare is also available from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to support families during the earlier part of the morning.

Our trained caregivers strive to create a nurturing space where children feel comfortable, engaged, and cared for, giving parents peace of mind as they take part in the life of our parish.

Child & Youth Protection

The safety and well-being of every child and youth in our care is a top priority. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and participate in the life of the church with confidence.

All children's and youth programs operate in accordance with diocesan, state, and local child protection requirements. Clergy, staff, and volunteers who work with children and youth receive appropriate training and screening to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.

We encourage parents and guardians to review our full Child and Youth Protection Policy for additional information.
